*note: This story has been updated from its original version to include both arrests.

Two Grande Prairie men is facing child pornography charges. Both investigations were launched when the National Child Exploitation Centre in Ottawa was tipped off about explicit content involving minors being posted on social media.

A home in Grande Prairie was searched on May 10th, and Jason Lovely was arrested. He’s since been charged with one count each of possession and distribution of child pornography.

Another home was searched on May 16th, leading to the arrest of Justin Doucet. He’s also facing charges of possession and distribution of child pornography, along with accessing child pornography.

The separate investigations by RCMP and ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit continue. Any online criminal activity can be reported through police, Crime Stoppers or Cybertip.ca.

These are the second and third arrests on child pornography charges in the city in a month. 54 year old Brian McCausland was taken into custody in April after allegations of inappropriate images being shared on social media.
