If you want to keep your land herbicide-free, the County of Grande Prairie has a program to help with that. Landowners who don’t want the chemical sprayed next to their land on the right-of-ways can apply for the No Spray Program.
Choosing to opt out of have the areas sprayed will make the land owner responsible for any noxious or prohibited-noxious weeds. They would also be in charge of making sure any brush doesn’t get out of hand.
The deadline for getting an application in was April 15th but they can still be handed in with a $25 late fee. The Agricultural Fieldman will review and accept the applications.
Signs are provided and installed for free by the Agriculture Services department. Homemade signs are not valid.
