Ammunition explodes in semi trailer fire on Highway 43

There have been no injuries reported after ammunition was found exploding in a semi trailer fire last night. Fox Creek Fire crews and RCMP responded to the fire at 11:45 pm near Two Creeks approximately 40 kilometres south of Fox Creek on Highway 43. When they arrived, the driver of the truck confirmed that he was carrying ammunition in the trailer.

Traffic was stopped in both directions for about 30 minutes to keep the public and emergency services safe.

RCMP say that the fire is believed to have been caused by a mechanical failure.
