Peace Wapiti School Division is looking for a moniker for their new K to 8 school being built in Whispering Ridge for 2017. The project is currently in the planning phase, but Board Chair Dana McIntosh says helping to select a name for the school will help the surrounding community feel a sense of ownership and pride.
Suggestions can be made online through the school division’s website. Any names that are inspired by a geographic area or by a person should be accompanied by a description of why that place or person is significant to the education community. The top three suggestions will be given to the board who will make a decision in January.
