Stand Up for Alberta rally in Grande Prairie Saturday

Residents concerned about the lack of action by the provincial government since it was elected into power last May are gathering for a rally in Grande Prairie this Saturday. Local organizer Kevin Fischer says the Stand Up For Alberta Rally is a way for blue collar Albertans to have their voices heard.

“Show the Alberta government they need policies to get people back to work. We don’t feel that they have that voice right now, don’t necessarily agree with the policies the NDP government has put forth at this point to basically get people out there working.”

Fischer says he’s personally concerned about the lack of a budget, the Royalty Review and increases to personal and businesses taxes. He adds the event will be family-friendly and peaceful.

This is the third rally of its kind in the province.  It starts with a convoy from Bezanson starting at 11, followed by lunch at Savage Oilfield Rentals with an open mic. Donations will also be accepted for the food bank.
